Charlotte Area Fourth of July Celebrations
For many it's not Fourth of July without patriotic festivities and fireworks. While many activities have been cancelled this year, there are some Charlotte area celebrations still happening this weekend. They might look a little different than years in the past as participants will be asked to physically distance and follow CDC guidelines while celebrating the holiday. From drive-ins to waterskiing here are some local events:
- The drive-in is making a comeback this year. Last weekend was Garth Brooks, this weekend it's fireworks. Hounds Drive in in Kings Mountain is featuring fireworks at 9:00 followed by a movie. If Kings Mountain is too far, there will also be fireworks and a movie at the Charlotte Motor speedway. The movie starts at 7:00 and fireworks will follow.
- NC Whitewater Center will hold outdoor activates for the Holiday weekend
- Tega Cay will hold its annual land parade followed by water activities including a water ski show by Carolina Show Ski Team followed by fireworks.
- Baxter Village in Fort Mill will hold its Fourth of July parade starting at 9:30.
(As schedules are changing due to Covid, please contact the venue to make sure festivities are still on before heading out.) However, you choose to celebrate the Fourth of July, we hope you have a wonderful weekend and if you are like us, we can't until we can celebrate more "normally" in 2022!
