Charlotte Real Estate Market Update and COVID 19
Charlotte Real Estate and COVID 19
As we enter day 2 of a Mecklenburg County Stay in Place order, we are seeing real estate and real estate practices change daily if not hourly! While agents are not able to show homes in person, we are actually seeing online viewings increase and webstie traffic increase. People are home, they are on their devices and they are looking for homes! Many people in areas in the North and North East who had plans on moving South are speeding up their timelines and continuing to search our site and others for their next home. Many are eager to leave the density, taxes and weather of their current homes and the current COVID 19 virus has done nothing to deter this.
We are also seeing promising economic news in the past few days. The stock market has rebounded and we are hearing about pent up demmand to restart the economy. On the housing front, we have sellers who are using this time to get their homes market ready and once the stay is lifted, they are ready to put their homes on the market.
Buyers, use this time to get pre-approved (not just pre qualified). Choose your lender and start the process. Sellers, use this time to get your home ready for the market. Clean clutter, organize closets, clean up the yard, etc. Use this time wisely if you are buying or selling this year. Once we get past this trying time we do expect Charlotte home sales to continue as before as we still have historically low mortgage rates and inventory.
