CMS Approves School Projects

More people moving to Charlotte means the need for more schools.  Charlotte Mecklenburg School (CMS) system is doing its part in keeping up with the growing needs for more schools.  This week CMS approved the construction contracts of several school projects including the construction of a new elementary school in Southwest Charlotte.

This will come as good news for residents in some popular Steel Creek and other Southwest communities as growth continues in those areas and future projects like the 1400 acre planned community of the River District is on the planning books.  The schools will draw from Nations Ford, Sterling and Steel Creek elementary schools.

Other school projects approved this week included construction at West Mecklenburg High School, Briarwood Elementary and South Charlotte’s Sharon Elementary.
