Mecklenburg County Tax Re-valuations will be mailed on St. Patrick's Day

Mecklenburg County, NC (including municipalities of Charlotte, Matthews, Mint Hill, Pineville, Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson) will be mailing out the new residential property tax valuations on March 17, 2023. I am certain that your valuation will go up. I'm not so certain about how much your property tax bill will go up. Here is why. Some areas have increased at a greater pace than others. The value of commercial properties as a larger piece of the pie has shrunk. Residential will carry more of the load than before. The bottom line is don't freak out. Stay calm! Let's see what happens when the county and the municipalities set the new rate. In the meantime, if you have questions about your valuation, please feel free to contact us at the Huss Home Group at Allen Tate Realtors.

3/17/23- 6:22 am. I just checked my property tax assessment and it is spot on with where I would have suspected. Up 57% versus the 2019 valuation. I did think the 2019 valuation was a little low. How did your valuation turn out versus your expectation?
