Permits for Townhomes Edge out Single Family Homes in Charlotte

Turn back the clock 15 years ago and I was somewhat negative on Townhomes and Condos.  They didn't seem to resale well due to the fact that the pool  of buyers was rather low.  Today, different story!    Townhomes have become hip!  There are a number of reasons.  Probably the greatest of these is that Charlotte is a melting pot of people from all over the world.  And those people moving here have grown up in and lived in townhomes so the stigma just doesn't exist.  

I have to give credit to the team at The Charlotte Ledger and Tony Mecia's writing for turning me on to this, but in 2023, the number of townhome unit permits was greater than those of single family homes. Who would have thought that would ever happen.
